Dr. Helga Rut Gudmundsdottir, the founder, author and CEO of Tónagull conducts research in early childhood music and is active in international collaboration. She is the current Chair of the European association MERYC (Music Educators and Researchers of Young Children).

International participation in research projects

MERYC organises professional conferences and educational opportunities for researchers as well as practitioners in early childhood music, covering the age 0-8 years.

The AIRS project was an international and interdisciplinary resarch project. Helga served on its steering committee 2012-2016 and participated in research on singing development in early childhood.

Singing and musical traditions in Icelandic and Estonian childhoods: A forthcoming book chapter
